IPL2024: The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) won their first-ever game against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the history of the IPL, mostly due to Yash Thakur. In order to assist his team win by thirty runs, the right-arm pacer took the first fifer of the competition. Along with that, he made it into the season’s Top 10 wicket-takers list. After taking six wickets in 10.5 overs and giving up 111 runs, he is currently ranked tenth.

In the April 7 LSG vs. GT encounter, Mayank Yadav was the main focus. In the final two games Lucknow played, the teenage pacer—dubbed as India’s quickest bowler—won Player of the Match twice in a row.
When he bowled the innings’ fourth over, he was struck for three fours. In this encounter, he lacked a bit of his trademark ferocious speed. After bowling one over against Gujarat, he was asked to leave. With the departure of LSG’s best bowler, KL Rahul needed someone to contain GT. Without losing their openers, the Titans had already amassed a 47-run partnership in 5 overs. The modest goal was 163.
When Yash arrived to bowl the last powerplay over, GT captain Shubman Gill was out. When the young pacer castled Gill, he was nineteen. When Yash Thakur was called upon to bowl his second over, Gujarat was five down for 92.
In the fifteenth over, Vijay Shankar was caught behind, giving Yash his second wicket. He dismissed Rashid Khan for a duck on the sixth ball. Yash Thakur’s double-wicket maiden over proved to be the game-winning blow for GT.
In his third over, Yash was smashed. In the 17th over, Rahul Tewatia struck him for six and then for four, allowing Gujarat to score thirteen runs. But Tewatia, a danger man, was removed by Yash in his last over. At deep square leg, Nicholas Pooran made no errors in taking the catch. Then Yash sent Noor Ahmad, holding a short ball, back to the pavilion.

With that, Yash Thakur was named Player of the Match. This was LSG’s third straight victory. For Lucknow, a pacer has been victorious on all three times.
Yash Thakur, a cricket player in the domestic league for Vidarbha, was born in Kolkata on December 28, 1998. In domestic cricket, Darshan Nalkande and Umesh Yadav, who participated for the Titans last night, are both players for Vidarbha. Yash has claimed 54 List-A wickets, 67 first-class wickets, and 69 T20 wickets thus far.
