Virat Kohli transformed his practice sessions in Adelaide to better prepare for the 3rd Test against Australia in Brisbane.

Virat Kohli has stepped up his efforts to win the third Test after coming under fire for his subpar performance in India’s loss to Australia in the pink-ball Test. After the second Test ended abruptly in three days, the seasoned hitter and the rest of the squad are still practicing in Adelaide. Since then, Kohli has been a consistent presence in the nets despite his inability to assist the team with his bat in Adelaide. Harbhajan Singh, a former spinner for India, really described a significant change that Kohli made to his technique to combat his dismal performance in Australia.
Harbhajan disclosed that Kohli put his backfoot defense to the test a lot in the nets to get ready for the extra bounce the Gabba surface would probably provide.
“Yes, based on my limited observations of him hitting in the nets today. He and I have played cricket a lot. He plays from the front. Being aware of the bounce on Indian soil means you need to be proactive. Those who have performed here include Steve Waugh, Hayden, Langer, and Ricky Ponting.
The bounce made them excellent back foot players. Having a strong backfoot game is essential.
Even though the Indian team lost the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, Kohli walked to the nets. Considering the work Virat is putting in, Harbhajan believes a return from Gabba is imminent.
“I’ve observed something in particular today. He was playing a lot of backfoot deliveries. Kohli was moving forward for the longer ball, but he was either trying to play or leaving the somewhat shorter balls.
He understands that Gabba will be a different pitch where he will encounter a lot of bounce and pace, so he has to incorporate that back foot technique into his game. It is wonderful to observe him working on the game.
