A one-week suspension of the remaining TATA IPL 2025 has been declared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Following a thorough analysis of the situation in cooperation with pertinent authorities and stakeholders, further information about the tournament’s revised schedule and locations will be released when it is ready.
Following the representations of the majority of franchisees, who expressed the concerns and feelings of their players as well as the opinions of the broadcaster, sponsors, and fans, the IPL Governing Council made the decision after consulting with all relevant parties. Although the BCCI has complete faith in the power and readiness of our armed forces, the Board felt it was wise to act in the best interests of all parties involved.

The BCCI is steadfastly supporting the country at this crucial moment. We show our support for the Indian government, the armed forces, and the nation’s citizens. As they lead a firm reaction to the horrific terrorist assault and the unjustified aggression by Pakistan’s military forces, the Board honors the bravery, heroism, and selfless devotion of our armed forces, whose courageous actions under Operation Sindoor continue to defend and inspire the nation.
Nothing is more important than the nation and its sovereignty, integrity, and security, even though cricket is still a national obsession. The BCCI is steadfast in its resolve to back any initiative that protects India and will always base its choices on what is best for the country.
Jiostar, the league’s official broadcaster, is a significant stakeholder that the BCCI thanks for their understanding and steadfast support. The Board further expresses gratitude to TATA, the Title sponsor, as well as other associate partners and stakeholders for voicing their unwavering support for this decision and prioritizing the national interest over all other factors.
