According to news, reported that Jasprit Bumrah, the star pacer for India, experienced discomfort in Sydney linked to his workload during the five Test matches in Australia, even though the initial tests did not find a stress fracture in his back.
Ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s inclusion in India’s Champions Trophy team is “subject to fitness” after his departure on the last day of the Sydney Test earlier this month raised major questions about his selection. Bumrah had a stress-related ailment that kept him from bowling on the fifth day of the Sydney Test.

The article claims that his exertion during the five Test matches in Australia caused Bumrah’s pain in Sydney, even though the initial round of scans did not reveal a stress fracture in his back. In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he bowled 152 overs in nine innings, claiming 32 wickets at an average of 13.
After consulting with medical professionals, BCCI agreed to let Bumrah take a break for a minimum of five weeks, or until Sunday, February 9. Following this, they will test him again to see whether he is ready to resume his activities.
In the last ODI of the home series against England on February 12 in Ahmedabad, if doctors declare Bumrah injury-free, they may put his match fitness to the test. It’s almost a tie for Bumrah since the final Champions Trophy team must reach the ICC by February 11.
As of right now, India may add Bumrah to its 15-man Champions Trophy squad, which will coach on Saturday, January 18. However, there will be an asterisk next to his name, suggesting that his participation is contingent upon his fitness.
Since Bumrah missed the last day of the Sydney Test because of back pain, there hasn’t been a formal update on his fitness. They have not confirmed his visit to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, home of the BCCI’s medical wing.
Against February 20, India takes against Bangladesh in Dubai to start their Champions Trophy campaign.
