New York’s East Meadow: Usain Bolt, an eight-time Olympian and avid cricket fan, is supporting his native West Indies to make history when the T20 World Cup begins next month by becoming the first country to win three straight titles.
The West Indian cricket squad that won the first two 50-over World Cups failed not even make it to the Indian competition held last year, indicating that the team’s heyday is long gone.
But when the West Indies triumphed in an Australian test in January for the first time in 27 years, Bolt is certain that the Caribbean region has finally moved on from all of its problems.

The fastest man in the world thinks his team can build on their victories from the T20 World Cup in 2012 and 2016, especially because they are hosting the competition alongside the United States this year, with the final scheduled for June 29 in Barbados.
At the event, Bolt declared, “I’m always going to go with my home team,” on Wednesday at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, where organizers provided a sneak peek of the brand-new, 34,000-seat venue.
Bolt – “Because we have some big hitters, if we get it right, then definitely West Indies .”
On June 2 in Guyana, the two-time winners will off their group campaign against Papua New Guinea.

Bolt stated that American fans would be given to an experience unlike any other, despite the fact that the men’s “Big Four” leagues of MLB, NBA, NHL, and NFL dominate the athletic landscape and make the United States seem like an odd host nation for a cricket championship.
“The energy that the cricket brings and the vibes and the noise, it’s just wonderful,” remarked the man. “It’s something different that you’ll never see.”
The 100- and 200-meter world record holder has already demonstrated his ability to use both bat and ball, and he appeared eager to embrace the spotlight once more while taking happy-looking photographs with excited spectators in New York.
Eight matches will take place at Eisenhower Park, starting on June 3 between South Africa and Sri Lanka.
“I finally get a chance to be a part of cricket again,” Bolt added. “I’m happy that I get the opportunity to be a part of , to promote a sport that I love.”
