Sanju Samson became the first player ever to score three T20I centuries in a calendar year following his sensational knock against South Africa.

Indian cricket team After his incredible performance against South Africa on Friday, wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson became the first player in history to record three T20I hundreds in a single calendar year. In the fourth Twenty20 International, the India opener appeared to be in outstanding form as he scored 109 off only 56 balls with six fours and nine sixes. Samson had an outstanding century to start the four-match series, but he was out for a duck in the following two games. That had no effect on his form, though, as he appeared to be in total control against the South African bowlers on Friday, and his outstanding effort put India at 283/1.
In the fourth and final Twenty20 International, India exploited the South African bowling attack to register an overwhelming 283 for 1, matching Sanju Samson’s accuracy with Tilak Varma’s muscular grace. This is by far the biggest T20I total by any nation on South African territory and the most by India abroad.
The two Indian hitters who scored hundreds in the same T20I innings will stand out among the many records that fell. In T20 Internationals, Samson and Varma also recorded India’s best stand, scoring 210 runs off of just 93 balls for the second wicket.
Varma (120 not out off 47 balls), who has truly come into his own with newfound confidence and vigor at number three, and Samson (109 not out off 56 balls), who struck a fantastic century in the first game, once again hammered the Proteas.
Varma has hit consecutive T20I hundreds, while Samson has now amassed three T20I tons in the previous five innings, including two ducks.
he took 10 balls less to get his ton (41 balls) than Samson did (51 balls).
Abhishek Sharma should also receive some recognition for raising the stakes during the Powerplay with four massive sixes (36 off 18 balls).
Because it was feasible to hit through the line by just clearing one’s front leg, Indian hitters blasted a record 23 sixes on a solid batting track with real bounce available. Varma had ten maximums, while Samson had nine.
The fact that Gerald Coetzee, the opposition’s top fast bowler, appeared to be suffering from a niggle only benefited India.
