After taking part in the two-day warm-up match against Prime Minister’s XI, Rohit Sharma-led Team India on Monday departed from Canberra for the Adelaide Test

Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, left Canberra on Monday for the Adelaide Test, which will begin on December 6, following their participation in the two-day warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI. In the warm-up match earlier on Sunday, India defeated Australia’s Prime Ministers’ XI by five wickets at Canberra’s Manuka Oval thanks to a four-wicket haul from bowler Harshit Rana and strong blows from Shubman Gill, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Captain Rohit and top India bowler Mohammed Siraj were spotted grabbing photographs with the crowd outside the team hotel in Canberra as they were leaving.
India chose to bat first after winning the toss. Nitish Kumar Reddy (41 off 59 balls, six fours, and a six) and Rishabh Pant (37 off 78 balls, three fours, and a six) played significant strokes and formed a critical 48-run partnership for the sixth wicket, but the bowlers dismissed them for just 150 runs.
Australia’s best bowler was Josh Hazlewood (4/29), while Pat Cummins, Mitchell Marsh, and Mitchell Starc each took two wickets. Even worse was Australia’s response, which saw them dropped to 79/9 before Mitchell Starc (26) and Alex Carey (21) lifted the score to 104, giving India a slim 46-run advantage.
India’s best player, Jasprit Bumrah, scored 5/30 in 18 overs, while Harshit Rana, who made his debut, looked well with 3/48.
India took a huge advantage in their second innings.
Despite losing wickets quickly, India reached 487/6 declared thanks to an unbeaten 100 from Virat Kohli (143 balls, 8 fours, and 2 sixes), Washington Sundar (29 off 94 balls, 1 six), and Nitish Kumar Reddy (38* off 27 balls, 3 fours, and 2 sixes). This set Australia a difficult target of 534 runs.
On Day 3, Australia was 12/3 at stumps, with Mohammed Siraj claiming one wicket and Bumrah capturing two.
In the second innings, Washington Sundar claimed two wickets, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana both claimed one, while Bumrah (3/42) and Siraj (3/51) lead the bowling attack.
