The Delhi Capitals, captained by Rishabh Pant, take on the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians on Sunday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The two clubs, who are at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points standings, are in dire need of some big victories. Hardik Pandya, who took over as the team’s captain after Rohit Sharma was fired, is in even more of a predicament.
After winning the vital toss, Rishabh Pant decided to bowl first on the Wankhede Stadium field. As Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma took the field to welcome the Mumbai Indians, pyrotechnics could already be seen in the distance. Rohit Sharma is in excellent form.
Prior to the Mumbai Indians’ annual ESA game against the Washington Capitals, Rohit Sharma also discussed the event. This year, 18,000 kids are expected to attend the Wankhede Stadium to support their favorite IPL players.
“The story of each and every kid who will be there at the stadium is inspiring. They have a difficult life. Really impressed with the work being put in by Reliance Foundation and Mrs Ambani for giving the children what they need. I have been fortunate enough to hear some of these kids’ stories in the past and I know exactly what they have been through. Coming to the stadium and watching the game can bring a lot of smiles on their faces. It is our duty and responsibility that they go back home with happiness on their face,” MI’s former skipper Rohit Sharma said.
