After a blow to the knee during practice at the MCG on Sunday required Rohit Sharma to receive some medical attention, the Indian team management remains unconcerned about any injuries to the skipper. While batting, fast bowler Akash Deep also received a hit, although he subsequently dismissed any potential injuries to both players.

When Rohit began batting against spin, he allowed KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill to face the new ball in the adjacent nets.
Rohit, who appears to be settling into his middle-order role, tried to play a pull shot, but it didn’t come off, and the ball hit his knee after clearing the top flap of the pad. He required some care, such as elevating the leg and applying an ice pack, but by the end of the practice, he appeared to be in good spirits, moving around and engaging in brief conversations with his coaches and teammates.
Since their arrival earlier this week, India’s voyage to Melbourne has been very exciting. The MCG hosted an event featuring Ravindra Jadeja. a miscommunication over answering inquiries in English. Now there’s a Rohit incident during training.
During the news conference on Sunday, Akash Deep revealed that none of the blows to his arm, which he sustained while batting, were cause for concern. He responded, “Such blows are common when you play cricket,” when questioned about him and Rohit. “I believe the ball remained low at times since this (practice) pitch was for white ball. However, these strikes are typical throughout training. That doesn’t raise any serious issues.
During India’s first nets practice on Saturday, Rishabh Pant was the center of attention, chatting with head coach Gautam Gambhir for almost an hour from a few yards away from the action. In November, he played well at the MCG, taking 4 for 50 and 2 for 37 against Australia A.
Many fans gathered to see India train as the MCG nets provided public viewing places. “If they can’t wave, they can at least smile,” she added. Since India’s last visit, the MCG has drastically changed from being batting-friendly
They won by eight wickets in Melbourne in 2020 after suffering a tough defeat in Adelaide, where Australia bowled them out for 36. In the subsequent Test match at the MCG, Australia dismissed England for 68 in the second innings, with Scott Boland taking 6 for 7. In the two Sheffield Shield games played at the location this season, there has only been one game with a total of 250 or more.
After making the XI in Brisbane, Akash Deep has experienced a few high points. He smashed Pat Cummins for a massive six over wide long-on from No. 11, helping India save the follow-on. It is crucial that we score those 20–30 runs while we batting. My attitude is to help whatever I can, and on that particular day, I didn’t consider saving the follow-up since I didn’t want to go. And when you do well in that circumstance, you get confidence, and the team was able to see that in me, which made me very pleased.”
After having a good duel with Steven Smith and hitting his bat on all edges, the audience praised Akash Deep on the field and during his press conference. We just bowl well with what we have, bowling in the appropriate spots.
