Following the announcement of his “new role” by India Cements, the owners of the Chennai Super Kings, Ravichandran Ashwin made his way back to the team.
After serving as an Indian Premier League player with the Chennai Super Kings from 2008 to 2015, veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took on a new position with the team. Ashwin took on the role of CSK’s high-performance center after being brought in by owners India Cements, even though he is still connected to the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. When the IPL 2025 season gets off, the center should be fully functioning. Ashwin has been instrumental in its development, particularly in relation to CSK’s academies.
My main priorities are developing the sport and strengthening the cricket community. Upon his return to India Cements, Ashwin exclaimed, “I’m thrilled to be back where it all started for me.”
“Having Ashwin back has us thrilled. He will be a key member of our High-Performance Center and Superkings Ventures teams. He is renowned for his relentless pursuit of greatness and is among Tamil Nadu’s top cricket players. It is generally known that he is dedicated to the game at all levels, whether it is for the club, Tamil Nadu, or India. He’ll be a fantastic leader to lead the center and develop the up-and-coming talent,” he stated, according Sportstar.
Ashwin’s return to CSK has been met with love, but it has also raised questions about whether he would play for the Super Kings going forward.
There will be a huge auction before to the 2025 Indian Premier League season. There is still uncertainty over the specifics of retention, but rumors have it that each team may only be able to hold onto a maximum of four players. The Royals could decide not to keep Ashwin if that occurs.
Ashwin assisted the MS Dhoni-led team in winning back-to-back IPL titles in 2010 and 2011 while he was at CSK. Ashwin assisted CSK in making the playoffs each of the next four seasons.
