In the IPL 2024, Punjab Kings’ head coach Trevor Bayliss and director of cricket development Sanjay Bangar have parted ways. The four co-owners of the team, who sit on the board, recently made the decision, according to information obtained by ESPNcricinfo.
This development is a part of Kings’ coaching staff overhaul. They named Ricky Ponting as their new head coach earlier this month.

Although Bangar joined the Kings in December 2023, Bayliss became the team’s head coach following the 2022 Indian Premier League. Kings, who have never won the IPL, came in ninth place the previous year and eighth in 2023.
He reconnected with Kings in December 2023.
Over the past ten years, the Kings have frequently changed coaches in an attempt to find the magic recipe.
After Mike Hesson (2019), Brad Hodge (2018), Virender Sehwag (2017), and Sanjay Bangar (2014–16), Kumble was the sixth coach the Kings had hired in five seasons.
“The biggest thing that I want to do at Punjab Kings is make everyone aware that it’s going to be a different place,” Ponting stated in an interview. It will have greater energy.
