Holders Paris Saint-Germain face a tricky start to their defence of the French Cup after the draw placed them away against Ligue 1 rivals Lens in the last 64 on Monday.

After losing to Ligue 1 opponents Lens in the round of 64 on Monday, holders Paris Saint-Germain will have a difficult start to their French Cup defense. Another matchup between top-tier teams that are entering the competition for the December 20–22 round is between Marseille and Saint-Etienne. Rennes, now led by former Argentina manager Jorge Sampaoli, will play six-time former French champions Bordeaux, who dropped to the fourth division and declared bankruptcy in the summer.
Monaco, who are third in Ligue 1, will face Union Saint-Jean, who are in the sixth level. Reims is still scheduled to host Mutzig, who also plays in the sixth tier.
Saint-Joseph of Martinique will travel to Corsica to play Bastia, one of two foreign teams still in the draw. Dives-Cabourg’s fifth-tier opponents have paired with Saint-Denis of Reunion.
On May 24, the Stade de France will host the final. Reunion’s Saint-Denis will face Dives-Cabourg’s fifth-tier opponents.
