Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood, who is recovering from a side strain, bowled two full spells at Adelaide Oval on Monday

Recovering from a side strain, Australia’s Josh Hazlewood bowled two full stints at Adelaide Oval on Monday. He stated that his availability for the next third Test match against India will depend on how he “pulls up” over the following day. The 33-year-old Hazlewood bowled through two sessions on what would have been the fourth day of the pink-ball Test, which Australia won by 10 wickets, in order to replicate match conditions and gauge his preparedness for the third Test, which starts in Brisbane on Saturday.
Hazlewood, who did not play in the second Test, told reporters, “I think it’ll be how I pull up in the 24 hour following it really.”
Simply said, it’s a repeating process, and two spells clearly make a significant impact. going again on the same day after cooling down almost completely, and the intensity must also be quite high.
“So a few boxes to tick, but it’s probably the 24 hours that follow and pulling up again the next day and then thinking ‘yeah, I’d be right to go again if I had to’,” he said.
The seasoned bowler, who has a history of side problems, said that the most recent one was a minor ailment and that he might have forced himself to play if the Adelaide Test had taken place at the end of the summer.
“I’ve experienced a few side strains in my profession, but this one isn’t your usual one.
So far this week, I’ve checked all the boxes. It’s clear that I’ve had issues with the side in the past, so if I can err on the side of caution, I suppose I will,” Hazlewood said.
However, it pales in comparison to the other few I’ve experienced. For a few days, I was irritated since I had completed the Sheffield Shield game and was content with my location, but it continued to happen.
“I may have ran the gauntlet and played if this (Adelaide) had been the final Test of the summer.
“Obviously, Scotty (Boland) is there, and each time he plays, he does an amazing job. Thus, I suppose it somewhat eases the decision-making process. To play, you sometimes have to be very much at your best. If not, Scott is available and prepared to go,” he stated.
Scott Boland will make room for Hazlewood in the starting lineup if he is deemed healthy.
