South African bowling all-rounder Corbin Bosch has been signed by the Mumbai Indians to replace Lizaad Williams, a fellow countryman who will miss the forthcoming IPL 2025 because of a knee ailment. Williams hasn’t completely recovered to play for the five-time IPL winners since missing the SA20 in January of this year due to the same ailment. MI had purchased him at INR 75 lakh, which was his base price.

After playing for MI Cape Town in this year’s SA20, where he returned 11 wickets in eight games, with figures of 4 for 19 against Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Bosch, who had not been sold at the super auction, now joins a familiar lineup. For the 2025 season, which will run from April 11 to May 18, Bosch was also selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the most recent PSL Draft. The IPL season will run from March 22 to May 25.
Bosch is no stranger to the IPL. Prior to joining the Rajasthan Royals as Nathan Coulter-Nile’s replacement, he was signed as a net bowler. But as of yet, he hasn’t played in the league.
Only a few days after making his 50-over debut against the same opponent in Johannesburg, Bosch made his Test debut for his country in the 2024 Boxing Day match against Pakistan at Centurion. In South Africa’s Champions Trophy team, he was also called up to replace the injured Anrich Nortje.
