Due to a recurrence of his finger injury that prevented him from playing in the 17th Indian Premier League (IPL), Afghanistan’s mysterious spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman will miss the rest of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Hazratullah Zazai, who is renowned for playing devastating knocks in the game’s shortest version, has taken Mujeeb’s spot, a 23-year-old.

The replacement was declared following Afghanistan’s seven-wicket victory over Papua New Guinea at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad, and permission by the ICC technical committee.
Mujeeb was only able to participate in Afghanistan’s opening tournament match against Uganda. Against the Cricket Cranes, he bowled three overs and claimed a wicket at an economy rate of 5.33.
Notably, Noor Ahmad is a left-arm wrist spinner who may fill the position that was anticipated of Mujeeb in Afghanistan’s squad.
In the competition, Noor has already participated in two games. In the match against New Zealand, he was granted a single over while Rashid Khan and Fazalhaq Farooqi took four wickets apiece and destroyed the Kiwi batting order.
Noor bowled his whole allotted four overs in the match against Papua New Guinea, finishing with stats of 1/14.
Noor may be a big benefit for Afghanistan, according to head coach Jonathan Trott, as the wickets will keep becoming worn in the next games.
According to ESPNcricinfo, Jonathan Trott stated, “He’s going to be a big part for us going forward, as these wickets continue to wear.” “It’s always nice to have the option of him to come into the side, or the left-arm spin of Nangeyalia Kharote, who can come into the side – he did really well in the last (series) against Ireland – and obviously (Mohammad) Nabi, who can bowl spin as well.”
