After the Chennai Super Kings were eliminated from the IPL 2024 competition on Sunday, Mahendra Singh Dhoni returned to his birthplace of Ranchi. The reigning champion’s campaign was terminated on Saturday with a defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Social media users have been sharing a footage of Dhoni arriving at the Ranchi airport, in which the former captain of CSK can be seen getting into his car.
With the aid of three fours and a massive six, Dhoni scored 25 off 13 balls, demonstrating his ability to still hit the ball a very long way.
It is said that the 42-year-old wicketkeeper, who has helped the CSK win five IPL championships, played his last game against the RCB. He made a commitment to return for one more season last year as a way of thanking the supporters for their support.

CSK needed 17 runs in the last over to advance to the playoffs based on a higher net run rate, but spinner Yash Dayal kept his composure to help RCB win despite being hammered for a massive six by Dhoni.
Dhoni shook hands with the opposition’s reserves and support personnel before discretely leaving for the dressing room, even as the RCB players erupted into riotous celebrations.
Since his knee surgery, CSK has been carefully controlling Dhoni’s workload. When he batted, he simply had to deal with a couple of pitches. The former captain, who bats lower in the order, has faced 73 balls so far this season and has an amazing strike rate of 220.54, smashing 14 boundaries and 13 sixes.
