In the first T20I, Mayank Yadav went over 149 kmph while in the second T20I, he clocked 146-17 on a couple of occasions.

The selection of speedster Mayank Yadav in the Indian cricket team for the Twenty20 International series against Bangladesh was the talk of the town when the roster was revealed. Mayank made a lasting impact on everyone in the IPL 2024 by reaching speeds of over 150 kmph and displaying perfect accuracy in his lengths and lines. He even achieved a delivery speed of 156.7 kmph. In his first two games with the Lucknow Super Giants, he was named Player of the Match, but he was shortly sidelined by an abdominal strain. Mayank thereafter recuperated and got match fit by bowling eight to ten overs a day at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
He bowled a maiden over and took his first wicket in an international match against Bangladesh in Gwalior. At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, the second Twenty20 International between India and Bangladesh commemorated Mayank’s triumphant return as a member of the venerable Sonnet Club. He reached above 149 kmph in the first T20I and occasionally hit 146-17 in the second T20I.
He hasn’t yet reached 150 mph in an international cricket match, though. Bangladesh’s Tamim Iqbal saw this and offered a comment.
“During this series, Mayank Yadav has not reached 150,” commented Tamim Iqbal in the commentary.
His colleague analyst, Murali Kartik, shot back, saying, “Neither has Bangladesh.”
Because RP Singh believes that Akash’s skill level is more appropriate for Australian settings, he supported Akash’s selection for the BGT season.
“Akash Deep belongs in Australia, in my opinion. His bowling style is more suited to the conditions in Australia. Mayank Yadav possesses speed, which is a crucial component of fast bowling. There are further facets to it. He needs to gradually acquire new abilities and variants. In a press briefing, RP Singh, Expert, JioCinema and Sports18, stated that Mayank was still in the development stage.
The former left-arm seamer feels that Mayank has to express himself on the local Indian cricket scene since red-ball cricket tests a player’s patience and talent.
“Players’ patience and ability are put to the test in a test match. Time permits. It is necessary to play a lot of the domestic cricket that Mohammed Shami and Akash Deep have played. Mayank has not yet passed through the frame that the other two players have. For the Australia series, I believe Akash Deep is a better option,” he continued.
