When the IPL competition resumes following the suspension, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) intends to prolong it until May 30. Beginning on May 16, the BCCI is considering holding the remaining games in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Although several IPL teams have expressed concerns about the availability of their foreign players, who have all flown home, the organizers will provide them with the updated schedule by Sunday night.

Due to a week-long suspension, the IPL final may now take place on May 30 rather than May 25 at a few different locations. All IPL teams will receive the schedule by tonight, according to a BCCI source.
In order for the IPL to begin on Friday, the BCCI has already requested that all teams—aside from Punjab Kings—report to their designated locations by Tuesday. The BCCI has instructed the teams to inform their international players about their travel schedules.
Following the IPL’s formal suspension by the BCCI on Friday, the majority of the international players and support personnel departed for their homes. The franchisees are currently planning to fly them back. Since the playoffs and final require at least six days, the BCCI needs at least two weeks to finish the other twelve matches. Additionally, organizers are preparing more double headers since they have only two weeks left to complete the competition.
An Indian board source stated, “We have instructed all franchises to notify their teams to report to their respective destinations by Tuesday.”
After India and Pakistan declared a truce on Saturday, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal informed this newspaper that they are considering the prospect of resuming the halted IPL “immediately.”
“A ceasefire was just declared. We now investigate the potential for the IPL to resume and end. If it can be carried out right away… We will now be talking to all the stakeholders, including broadcasters, team owners, and everyone else engaged, to figure out how to proceed after figuring out the venue dates and other details. Above everything, we must confer with the government,” Dhumal had stated.
Following the BCCI’s sudden suspension of the IPL on Friday due to border tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian board had already picked Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad as the locations for the remaining IPL matches. However, officials will consult the government before finalizing the venue selection.
Security concerns led to the cancellation of Thursday’s IPL game between the Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. This came when the floodlights of Dharamsala’s HPCA Stadium went out. Dhumal explained that they made the decision as a precaution.
