According to a PTI story, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will play Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 16 or 17, marking the potential start of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). When the tournament was suspended, the match was initially set for May 9.
Discussions over the IPL 2025 restart are underway in the wake of India and Pakistan’s peace deal. Even though the BCCI hasn’t confirmed it yet, the event is probably going to resume on Friday, May 16, or Saturday, May 17.

With the IPL scheduled to start in Lucknow and the final schedule to be revealed on Monday, the PTI report claims that all clubs have been requested to return their players.
“The tournament will resume in Lucknow on May 16 or 17, and all teams have been asked to call back their players.” According to a source who spoke to PTI, the final schedule will be released tomorrow, Monday.
“The matches will probably take place at four other locations, and Delhi and Dharamsala won’t be able to host any more games. According to the PTI report, “all the equipment has already been removed from these venues.”
IPL 2025 Final May Move Out Of Kolkata
Although the locations for Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, which are set to take place in Hyderabad, have not changed, the source also notes that a rain forecast might prevent Kolkata from hosting the final, which is expected to take place on June 1. The final might be moved to Ahmedabad if necessary.
“The play-off stage locations have not changed as of yet, but it appears that rain may have an impact on the Kolkata final. The final might then take place in Ahmedabad.
For those who don’t know, the IPL 2025 competition was halted for a week when Pakistan violated Indian airspace by attacking with drones and missiles. Shortly after escalating cross-border tensions caused Match No. 58 between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) to be interrupted midway in Dharamsala, the BCCI announced the suspension.
