IPL 2025 Called Off Highlights: Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has backed the BCCI’s decision to halt IPL matches for a week due to the growing hostilities between India and Pakistan. In the wake of the Pahalgam incident, Sourav Ganguly had already said that India should sever its cricketing links with Pakistan.
The Emirates Cricket Board is “unlikely to approve” PCB’s proposal to hold the remaining Pakistan Super League matches in the United Arab Emirates, according to reported reports. However, PTI cited the Pakistan Cricket Board as claiming that the PSL T20 event was later postponed on the recommendation of Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declared on Friday that it has decided to postpone the remaining TATA IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week in light of the tensions between India and Pakistan.
Devajit Saikia, the secretary of the BCCI, issued the media alert and stated that, following a thorough analysis of the situation in collaboration with pertinent authorities and stakeholders, more information about the tournament’s revised schedule and locations will be made public.
Notably, the Punjab Kings vs. Delhi Capitals game in Dharamshala was canceled a day earlier because of what the broadcasters described as a “technical” problem. In a subsequent interview, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal emphasized that it was a precautionary move because of the red alert in Jammu.
The Ekana Stadium in Lucknow was to host an IPL game between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Lucknow Super Giants. With 12 games remaining in the group rounds and 58 matches previously played, the 20-over cash-rich competition was nearing its conclusion. The top four teams advanced to the playoffs following the group rounds, with the final match scheduled for May 25 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
In view of the worsening scenario, the Pakistan Cricket Board also declared earlier in the day that the PSL’s final matches will now take place in the United Arab Emirates.
