Cricket South Africa and the BCCI jointly released a statement announcing that India would visit South Africa in November 2024 for a brief four-match Twenty20 International series. The Indian men’s squad will be visiting South Africa for the second year in a row after competing in all three forms in 2023–2024.
On November 8, the first of the four T20Is is slated to take place at Kingsmead in Durban. On November 10, the teams will travel to Gqeberha for the second game. On November 13 and November 15, they will play their final games in the Highveld, at Centurion and Johannesburg. The match in Durban to be abandoned due to rain and resulting in a 1-1 final result for the T20I portion of the tour last year.
Between India’s visit of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar series and their home Test series against New Zealand is the brief assignment. “The CSA Chairperson, Lawson Naidoo, expressed gratitude to the BCCI for their ongoing support of South Africa cricket team and cricket worldwide.”
“Any tour by the Indian cricket team to our shores is filled with amazing camaraderie and exciting cricket, and I know our fans will be eagerly awaiting this series which will showcase the exceptional talent from both teams.”
“South Africa and India have always shared a deep and strong bond, one that both nations take great pride in,” said BCCI secretary Jay Shah in a statement. South African cricket supporters have always showered the Indian cricket team with affection and gratitude, and the Indian fans feel the same way about the South Africa team.
