India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar said going to Australia and playing in their conditions is the toughest challenge for the Indian cricketers.

The hardest task for Indian cricket players, according to assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, is traveling to Australia and playing in their conditions ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 between Australia and India. India has recovered the series lead against Australia throughout the years. Including two victories in Australia during the 2018–19 and 2020–21 seasons, India has won four straight series against Australia. India has now won the BGT ten times and Australia five times, with their most recent series victory being in the 2014–15 season. This has made India a far more successful team in the series. In India, they last won a series in 2004–05.
“Coming here and succeeding is one of the hardest things an Indian cricket player can do. Before we started here, I believe Gauti Bhai (Gautam Gambhir) spoke with the lads.
Some of the older lads, including Booms (Jasprit Bumrah), Virat, and Ash (Ashwin), are also chatting with the other men about how they first arrived here as kids and how many seniors were present. And how it seemed to them that you return as a stronger cricketer after the Australia series. In a video that the BCCI released, Nayar stated, “I think a lot of the young boys are really keen and raring to go and hopefully make a name for themselves by the end of this tour.”
The first Test in the much awaited India-Australia Border-Gavaskar series will take place in Perth on November 22.
Following that, supporters will focus on the third Test, which will take place at The Gabba in Brisbane from December 14 to 18.
The series will reach its concluding stage with the traditional Boxing Day Test, which will take place at Melbourne’s iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26 to 30.
It promises to be a thrilling match with a dramatic ending.
