Team India posted its third lowest total Test total on Thursday, bowled out for 46 in the first innings of the ongoing first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru.
In the opening Test match between India and New Zealand, which is now taking place in Bengaluru, Team India was bowled out for 46 runs in the first innings, recording their third lowest total ever. Day 2 of the contest saw five India’a batsmen dismissed for ducks after the first day washed out. Matt Henry and William O’Rourke took five and four wickets, respectively. This was the third-lowest score overall and the lowest at home. Veteran hitter Ajinkya Rahane posted a picture of his workout on Instagram the same day that the India’s squad had a shocking collapse.
Fans attempted to draw a connection between Rahane’s tweet and its time, speculating that he could be trying to convey a message. For those who are unaware, Rahane last participated in a Test match in July of last year. He is now hoping to rejoin the team.
Rahane uploaded a video of himself practicing in the nets on Instagram. With the title “Ready to strike,” Rahane posted a video.
Here’s what fans commented on his post:
“Bro, you know when to post.”
“Rahane bhai saw the opportunity and posted immediately.”
“Lol. timing both the post and the ball. Right on target.”
“Great timer, perfet time of posting this practice clip.”
Rahane just won the Irani Cup with Mumbai. But in his most recent appearance, he was unsuccessful at bat when Baroda surprised Mumbai in the Raji Trophy last week.
In response to India’s 46 all out, New Zealand had 180 for three in their opening innings.
In only 31.2 overs, India collapsed to their lowest-ever total in a home Test match, with five of their batsmen failing to even register a run.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opener, scored 13 while Rishabh Pant scored 20. Not a single batter from the Indian team reached double digits.
On the other hand, New Zealand batted steadily and finished the day ahead by 134 runs.
After the Kiwis lost Tom Latham (15), Devon Conway (91) and Will Young (33) raised a partnership of 75 runs.
