Aiden Markram has been rested due to the tight schedule between the third Test and the T20Is. Regular captain Aiden Markram will be occupied with the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, while batsman Heinrich Klaasen will represent South Africa in the three-match T20I series against Pakistan starting on December 10. Markram, who has been rested because of the short timeframe between the third Test and the T20Is, will play in the second Test starting on December 5. Due to their involvement in the current Test series, Markram, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, and Tristan Stubbs will also miss the T20I series.

According to ICC, Anrich Nortje and Tabraiz Shamsi are making their first appearances since the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, giving South Africa’s T20I team plenty of firepower despite the absence of important players.
George Linde, an all-rounder who last played in 2021, is also returning to the T20I lineup after a three-year absence. During the CSA T20 Challenge, Linde was in outstanding form, capturing nine wickets at a remarkable average of 18.33 and amassing 171 runs at a strike rate of 178.12.
According to the ICC, Rob Walter, the head coach of South Africa’s white-ball team, stated of the team: “We have capped all 15 players, and we are looking to build on the experience within the group as we continue to grow as a unit.”
Heinrich will be the team’s leader while Aiden is away. He has a great grasp of the game and a great deal of experience playing it. After his prior experiences in 2021, we are excited to use him in this capacity.”
Additionally, we’ve given George another chance. After an impressive domestic year, he truly earned his position, and his abilities as a spinning all-rounder provide the club much-needed balance. We are happy to welcome Tabraiz and Anrich back in the team. Their depth of knowledge and expertise really strengthens our bowling unit, improving our speed and spin departments—two crucial aspects when facing a formidable Pakistani team,” he said.
