The Indian Senior Men’s Basketball team’s new head coach, Scott Flemming, was named by the Basketball Federation of India on Tuesday.
His first term in the position will be this one; he coached the team from 2012 to 2015. During Flemming’s tenure, the squad won the 2014 FIBA Asia Cup over China, the best team in the league. Additionally, in the 2014 Lusofonia Games, he guided the squad to a gold medal.
“With his prior experience and coaching abilities, we are confident that Mr. Flemming’s appointment will help improve the performance of our Indian Senior Men Basketball Team at the International level,” Federation Secretary General Kulvinder Singh Gill stated in a media statement.
Flemming, an American with 38 years of coaching experience, was formerly employed by NBA India as the Senior Director of Basketball Operations.
