Harry Brook, a middle-order batsman for England, has withdrawn from the Indian Premier League 2025, stating that he needs to get ready for his national team responsibilities.
The Delhi Capitals purchased Brook at the November mega auction with INR 6.25 crore. Brook might potentially be banned from the IPL after withdrawing from the tournament for the second time in a row.

In accordance with a new IPL regulation, “Any player who registers in the player auction and after getting picked at the auction, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season, will get banned from participating in the tournament and player auction for 2 Seasons.”
Players who are disqualified because of illnesses or injuries are exempt from the regulation. “It is a really important time for England cricket, and I want to fully commit to preparing for the upcoming series,” Brook writes in a statement posted on social media. After the busiest moment in my career to date, I need time to recover.
I don’t expect or know that everyone will understand, but I have to do what I think is right, and playing for my nation will always be my top priority.
Brook has only played in one IPL season so far, in 2023 with Sunrisers Hyderabad, after withdrawing from the Delhi Capitals’ campaign due to a bereavement last season.
