The verbal exchange between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head was the highlight of Day 2 of the India vs Australia Adelaide Test.

The highlight of the second day of the India vs. Australia Adelaide Test was the verbal altercation between Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj. He cleaned up the batter on the very next ball after Head hit Siraj for a six. Head wasn’t impressed with the heated celebration the right-handed bowler had after taking the wicket. After a brief conversation between the Australian batter and Siraj, the pacer made an emphatic motion to halt the exchange. On social media, the event became viral.
Siraj disclosed the true nature of his relationship with Head. Siraj, who was just appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police in his native state of Telangana, received a humorous piece of advise from former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, presenter for Indian channel Star Sports.
“DSP saab, jab yeh (Head) dubara Hyderabad aye na, toh usko zara giraftaar kar lena (when he comes to Hyderabad to play in the IPL, try and arrest him),” Harbhajan joked with Siraj. “I’m kidding. “I hope the best for you,” he said.
Notably, Head is a member of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team SRH, which is situated in Hyderabad. Prior to the IPL 2025 auction, the team paid Rs 14 crore to retain him.
In the second Test in Adelaide, Australia defeated India by a commanding 10-wicket margin thanks to a masterclass from captain Pat Cummins. Australia had no trouble chasing just 19 runs to win on Day 3, as openers Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja got the hosts over the finish line in 3.2 overs.
Australia threw out India for 175 earlier in the day as Cummins finished with five wickets. Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, claimed seven wickets in the match, while bowler Mitchell Starc claimed eight.
Travis Head, who scored 140 runs, was the standout performance. Only Nitish Reddy played well for India, scoring 42 runs in each of the two innings. Australia has now tied the five-match Border-Gavaskar series 1-1 with their victory.
