Since the Delhi Capitals lost the wicketkeeper batsman, experts predict that Rishabh Pant will fetch a hefty price in the upcoming IPL 2025 auction. With other clubs ready to participate in the bidding wars, Pant offers three unique skills: batting, wicketkeeping, and captaincy. The fact that DC released Pant and did not keep him in the IPL 2025 retention was quite startling to many, and it is very doubtful that his former team would bid on him or use the RTM card for him in the current auction. Pant left the team he played for for eight years and captained for three of those seasons due to tense discussions that had been going on for the last month and a convoluted management structure.
One of the few well-known celebrities that will be bidding is Pant. He is expected to receive the highest bid at the event, according to several former cricket players.
Following his exploits in the Test series against New Zealand, former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali said that Pant will sell for about INR 50 crore at auction.
“In the first and second innings, Rishabh Pant scored 60 and 64 runs, respectively. According to some, he ought to bid INR 25 crore in the IPL auction. It felt like a flat track when he batted on this pitch. On his YouTube channel, Basit stated, “He hit wherever he wanted to, but his shot selection was good.”
