The nature of the injury still remains unknown, and it is yet to be seen if Stokes will come in to bat for England in the second innings. Ben Stokes, England’s Test captain, suffered another hamstring injury during the current Test match against New Zealand, dealing the team a serious setback. Stokes ended up hurting his hamstring on the third day of the Test series finale, England Cricket revealed on X (previously Twitter). At Seddon Park, Stokes was bowling to Rachin Ravindra, a teenage player from New Zealand, when he instantly grabbed his hamstring and walked off the field to get help.

All year long, the seasoned all-rounder has suffered with hamstring strains. During The Hundred in August, he had a hamstring injury. He missed the first Test of the three-match series against Pakistan in Multan in October due to the injury.
Whether Stokes will bat for England in the second innings is still up in the air, as is the extent of the injury.
In 12.2 overs, Stokes claimed two wickets while giving up 52 runs at an economy rate of 4.20. In the second inning, he lost to Will Young and William O’Rourke.
He bowled 24 overs, claimed six maidens, and gave up 91 runs at an economy rate of 3.80 in the opening innings. His only victim in the early innings was Matt Henry.
New Zealand was able to score 453 runs while Stokes was out of play.
England lost both openers, Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, early in the innings as they pursued the growing challenge.
In his final Test match, Tim Southee broke the stalemate by dismissing Duckett (4), who exposed his stumps to the seasoned bowler. Matt Henry pinned Crawley (5) in front of the stumps in a follow-up.
England fell down to 18/2 at the close of Day 3, remaining 640 runs from winning.
