After being selected as the first overall choice in the WNBA draft, former Iowa Hawkeyes collegiate basketball player Caitlin Clark is currently a significant sports name in 2024, playing for the Indiana Fever.
Despite her presence, her Fever team is having a difficult season. In February, she shattered the NCAA’s all-time scoring record, drawing attention from the sports world.
Her family was the ones who were most ecstatic for her when she broke the NCAA scoring record that evening at Carver-Hawkeye Stadium, despite the boisterous cheers from the crowd.
That day, she was spotted having fun with her family, who are incredibly important to her and her growth.
The Clark family of Caitlin
Brent, her father, played basketball in college and is familiar with the area. He was attending Iowa’s Division III Simpson College.
According to Brent, “I don’t recall that she would ever miss a shot,” in a 2023 interview with KCRG. The height of the baskets was five or six feet. She would just draw up and swish from the free throw line. At that age, she was also quite adept at handling the ball.”
Her mother, Anne Nizzi-Clark, is the daughter of Bob Nizzi, a longtime football coach, counselor, and administrator at Dowling Catholic, the school attended by all of the Clark children.
Blake and Colin, her two brothers, are on opposite sides of her age range. In addition to being a former collegiate football quarterback, Blake also played basketball, and according to Caitlin, he is “really, really good at it.”
Colin participated in track and basketball at Dowling, and his elder brothers have always provided him with a lot of encouragement.
